Kiyoharu is a well-established icon in the visual kei movement. He started his career as a musician in the 1980's, first with SUS4 and then with Garnet. After the disbandment of Garnet in 1990, Kiyoharu took Hitoki (former bassist for Garnet) and formed the band Kuroyume at the beginning of the Visual Kei era.

Kiyoharu's vocals are astounding to the extent that he can create sounds that appeal to many different genres with just his voice. Kiyoharu bonded closely with many other well known Visual Kei influences and legends. For instance, he has worked with hyde of L'Arc~en~Ciel and covered Gastunk's Husk together. His career with Kuroyume influenced the beautiful days of Visual Kei heavily, right there with Kyo was a roadie for Kuroyume and learned a lot from Kiyoharu as far as his image goes.
