Source:  Universal Music Newsletter
Japanese superstar HOTEI returns to Europe in April 2017 with live dates scheduled in Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium, playing in many cities for the very first time.

This is a message from the man himself:

"My career started from playing in small clubs in Japan, and we built it up to the level where I was able to play in front of stadiums full of screaming fans.

And now, I'm opening the door to the world, starting again from playing small clubs in new, unfamiliar places. Back to basics, never lose your ambition even in your success―that's my philosophy. One step at a time with your own steps, that's the only way to achieve your dreams.

I can guarantee you that you will be up on your feet dancing once you hear me play live with my amazing band, even if you are not familiar with me. Those who are bored with experiencing live performances with no soul will be surprised at how refreshing it is to see a real 'live' performance!

I am really looking forward to meeting as many people as possible on this Euro tour! If you can't connect with the soul of the audience in front of you, there's no chance to grab the hearts of thousands!"

-------------------------
Hotei celebrated his 35th anniversary in music in 2016 with a new "Best of" album release and an extensive touring schedule in Japan, with 57 dates across the country. The shows ranged from intimate club shows, to a free open-air concert in his hometown in front of 25,000 fans and finishing the year with his 40th performance at the Budokan in Tokyo on December 30th, where Hotei performed 35 songs to celebrate his 35 years in music.

Hotei also found time in 2016 to continue building his international profile, striking up a personal and professional relationship with Italian superstar Zucchero and performing on his latest, platinum selling, album "Black Cat". Hotei and Zuccchero performed live together several times in 2016, including Zucchero's first ever performance in Japan at a special event in Tokyo, and at headline shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London and Arena Di Verona in Italy.

That special relationship has continued into 2017 with Hotei joining Zucchero on stage at the prestigious San Remo Festival in Italy in February, a major TV performance viewed by millions.

Also in 2016, Hotei released singles with godfather of punk Iggy Pop and Richard Z. Kruspe (from Emigrate/Rammstein) from his critically acclaimed debut international album, "Strangers", and performed his first-ever LA show at the legendary Troubador, returned to the Highline Ballroom in New York, and performed headline dates in Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin.

Hotei released his debut international album, Strangers, in 2015 through Spinefarm Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music. The album features an array of guests including the godfather of punk Iggy Pop singing on two songs, Emigrate/Rammstein's Richard Z. Kruspe, Bullet For My Valentine's Matt Tuck, Noko from UK electronic band pioneers Apollo 440, and acclaimed Texan singer Shea Seger.

Heralded by Time Out as "iconic", and a genuine superstar in his native Japan where he has sold more than 40 million records, Hotei is best known internationally for his Kill Bill theme 'Battle Without Honor or Humanity' and is sought-after as a collaborator both in the studio and on stage.

I hope you are as excited for the tour as we are!

20161224
I want time to stop.
It was a time that I thought like that from my heart.
Many thanks to everyone who couldn't come but supported me anyway.

This is the beginning of SHIN.

There are many scary things,
and there are many painful things but
when I think that from here on out there will be many days which are deeply moving like yesterday was, I feel as though I can overcome things no matter how painful they are.

I want time to stop.
I thought like that but
However
If time were to stop I'd never be able to advance further from before.

Beginning today, I'm moving one step at a time towards the day I can meet all of you again.

It's a promise.
It's okay.

We can meet soon.

Thank you so much for the beautiful flowers.

And, I just want to say over and over again.

Thank you for coming to meet SHIN.

Artist:   Avanchick
Source:  Press release
Avanchick have announced that they will disband in fall of 2017, following a performance in Tokyo. Details of this performance, including the date, have yet to be released.

Fans planning to attend Tokyo in Tulsa in July also have nothing to worry about, as the band will perform as planned. To their American fans, vocalist NOAH tweeted, "To everyone in America, I'm sorry to worry you. Avanchick is definitely going to Tulsa. Please come see our final form."

The statement regarding their disbandment along with individual member statements to their fans, whom they call "Moumoku Shojo," have been translated below:

*Important Announcement*

We are truly thankful to those who have supported Avanchick in the past.
Unfortunately, Avanchick will disband in the fall of 2017 following a Tokyo performance.
We apologize deeply to all of the fans and staff whom we've caused a great worry and trouble to with this sudden announcement.

Member Comments

I'm sorry for the abrupt announcement regarding our disbandment.
We thought about it again and again, and this is the answer we came to.
After our performance at Akasaka BLITZ ended, I felt like I wanted time to reconsider once more what it was I really wanted to do as I came back to Tokyo from Kumamoto.
While I've been gaining experience through my activities in Avanchick, I started to feel as though I'm out of step with the musical activities I personally have been striving for.
I'm struggling to put an end to something personal that I created myself, but I'm very proud of the songs I made with this band and the time I spent with the Moumoku Shojo.
I think what I can and should do is to keep singing with all my power, conveying the emotions I want to express, and reach out to the lonely as Avanchick's Noah until the moment we disband.
Please continue on with me until that very last day.
NOAH

*****

First of all, I'm sorry to all of the Moumoku Shojo that have trusted us so far. And, thank you. If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have made it this far. Even now, I love this band. My true feelings are that I wanted to continue with it. I'm sorry for such a sudden announcement. I love all of you. I want to always look over you.
Rey

*****

First of all, I'm so sorry it's come to snatching away something that you all like.
NOAH, Rey, Otake, kagari, and Hyu-ga.
I feel with all my heart that it's all thanks to the fans and the industry people we worked with that the five of us were able to stand on stage and be an active part of the world of music.
Avanchick had been trying to get through a rough time so I can't really say that things were going well for us, and now it's come to this point...
Even with the current outcome, I think a "miracle" was produced, born of the mixing of relationships between various things and people.
It's difficult for miracles like that to continue on forever. That miracle comes to an end, and the gears that were intertwined so intricately have come to a stop.
As the one who started Avanchick and its leader, I feel so apologetic that I couldn't keep the miracle going. I feel incredibly disappointed in myself.
But while it may just be my opinion, I believe that the feelings and songs created by Avanchick will go on forever, and I'm going to keep working hard all the way until the very end, so I hope I can count on all of your support until then.
Otake

*****

First of all, I'm really sorry for such a sudden announcement.
It's been about 3 years since Avanchick's formation. It was short, but it was a very rich 3 years.
I was able to live because of all of the smiles every Moumoku Shojo. I truly have nothing but thanks. Thank you.
But, we also have things that we have yet to announce, and until the end of this current stage I am "Avanchick's Kagari."
My attitude isn't that of "Well, we're breaking up anyway." Rather, I feel more than ever that I want to move forward and give you everything I have, encompassing all of the emotions I've gotten from everyone and the gratitude I have toward those feelings at each and every performance until the moment we disband.
I'd like you to support me all the way up until the moment I'm not longer "Avanchick's Kagari." I want you to stand by me.
Please indulge my selfishness one last time.
-kagari-

*****

I'm sorry to make this announcement so suddenly.
This was the outcome we decided on after talking together with the members again and again.
In the 2 and a half years since we began, we rushed forward frantically with our own style.
Since doing this band there have been things which were very fun, but there have been just as many painful and difficult things too. The other members, the staff, and without a doubt, the Moumoku Shojo are the reasons that I, a brat like me that didn't know left from right regarding bands, was able to come this far. Thank you.
Being able to play the drums and piano for Avanchick were an irreplaceable treasure within my own life.

MIZTAVLA has just announced that their 2nd Mini Album "零"(Rei) will be released in January. Now is the time to reveal their forthcoming album.

MIZTAVLA is taking a chance and performing at O-EAST within a year of forming the band.
Their 1st mini album, "Adramelech", consisted of five unique tracks. So now, how they express and improve themselves for the 2nd album "零"(Rei) is the question.

"The retrospective of Visual kei" is the concept of MIZTAVLA.
The release of this album is a great opportunity for us to peak into their mind before their first solo show “Genten Kaiki" at O-EAST in September.

One of the five songs from the new album, "LOVE666", has been pre-released which can be found online.
"零" is a step ahead of their previous album and their concept of "retrospective of Visual-Kei".

It will surely bring us the impact it had when we first heard Visuak-kei music in the past.

Artist:   MeteoroiD
Source:  Press release
It is with great sadness that MeteoroiD have announced that following their oneman at Shibuya REX on 2/11/17, they will cease all activities.

Subsequently, their mini album “83” and mini album “83” commemorative tour will be cancelled. Comments from MeteoroiD and each band member have been translated below.

「Disbandment Announcement」

We are so thankful to those who have supported MeteoroiD in the past.
We have a very important announcement for everyone.
Following our oneman performance at Shibuya REX on 2/11/17, MeteoroiD will cease all activities.
We are really sorry to all of our fans and staff who have supported MeteoroiD that we are making this announcement so suddenly.
Regarding the reason, the balance that we had perfectly preserved began to crumble, and we decided that we wanted end with MeteoroiD shining the brightest at this moment.
Once more, as the band members all felt very strongly about ending on 2/11, the day in which Meteoroid was born, the previously announced mini album "83" and the mini album commemoration tour will be cancelled. We apologize.
We want to really thank all of the fans and staff who have supported us in the few years since we began activities.
There's only a short amount of time until 2/11/17, but both the band members and staff will give it their all, so please look forward to it. In regards to the members, we kindly appreciate your unchanging backing and support.
From all of us in MeteoroiD

On 2/11/17, MeteoroiD will disband.
Upon speaking with all of the band members, we were unable to find a solution aside from disbandment.
The staff, even those that could support us only 1%, gave their all until the bitter end, but even so it's come to this announcement.
I knew from the beginning that "one day it will end" but now that it's come it's still no good.
It's true that I still can't find an answer to what words would be good to write.
Regarding everything after 2/11, we determined that that day would be MeteoroiD's limit and so we decided to cancel everything after.
I am really sorry...that is the limit of the 5 of us
To everyone who loved MeteoroiD (METEOROID)! Thank you so much.
In order to tell each one of you thanks, I will sing with all of my heart until the very end.
On 2/11/17, I will commit lovers suicide with my beloved MeteoroiD (METEOROID).
GENKI

I'm sorry for making an announcement like this.
After having this discussion, it makes my chest tighten when I read the letters and fanmail from everyone.
But, I don't have any regrets and this was a unanimous decision that was made in order for us to all move forward.
Unfortunately this is how things have turned out, but in the future I want to remain in the same place as all of you because you've become so important to me, but first I want to rush forward to 2/11 with all of my being.
Thank you so much for everything up until now.
Mikado

With that announcement, my activities as "MeteoroiD's Machi" will cease.
From the beginning and until now, lots of different things have happened within MeteoroiD including members leaving and new members coming in, but throughout it all, you have loved us unconditionally and I thank you so much for that.
Those times you made me feel needed and gave me a place to belong, and the times I needed you and gave you a place to belong may be over as far as MeteoroiD is concerned, but they will be a part of me forever.
Despite lies and betrayals, no matter what happens, each and every one of you are here for me right now.
Without changing, let's meet head-on with no regrets in the remaining time we have.
As "MeteoroiD's Machi" I will continue to provide a place where everyone can feel they can belong until the final day.
Machi

First, I'm sorry to surprise you with this abrupt announcement. We are superior, and so in order to be able to move forward, we made the decision to disband.
Many things have happened since the band began and up until now, but in those times we've been able to overcome them together. Everything is an important treasure.
I believe from the bottom of my heart that we've been able to come this far because of our staff and the help of everyone who's supported us. I really want to thank you all.
Although MeteoroiD's activities and live shows have become few, I want to be with all of you.
Please look forward to MeteoroiD and MeteoroiD's raL until the very end.
raL

I'm really sorry for announcing so suddenly.
We were a band where we diligently worked to reach one objective, and had mutual enjoyment doing it together.
While it would have been good if we experienced the same enjoyment from everyone from now on, in order to pursue everyone's goals we'll continue to step forward but for right now we've taken the time to decide what's really the right thing to do.
We want to conclude by showing you the MeteoroiD that's no less than the MeteoroiD now.
For this reason, I've arrived at the conclusion that the current MeteoroiD can no longer be in the pursuit of this hindered dream.
For this reason, our last duty as MeteoroiD will be to be the current best MeteoroiD that's able to reach you all.
We also always thought how to become a place where everyone could belong. I will not forget our work and activities up to this point.
I'd be very happy if we could continue to live on in everyone's hearts.
This band was also a place where I could belong, so I want for MeteoroiD to live on in everyone's hearts, together.
We also received many precious experiences. We were able to spend the best time together with you all.
There's only a little time until 2/11, but we'll continue on as MeteoroiD full force until the end.
Thank you.

X Japan leader Yoshiki performed at the Classic Rock Awards held at Ryogoku Kokugikan this past Friday, November 11.
Yoshiki made history by becoming the first-ever artist to be honored with the “Asian Icon Award.” Based at the venerable Roundhouse venue in London, the Classic Rock Awards are widely recognized by the world’s rock stars as the “annual must-attend event,” bringing together artists from rock’s global Hall of Fame.

The show was held in Japan this year for the first time ever, and with this memorable timing Yoshiki became the first Asian artist to accomplish this great achievement. Rock royalty including Jeff Beck, ELO, Jimmy Page, Joe Perry, Def Leppard, Richie Sambora, Cheap Trick attended the event and gave Yoshiki rave reviews for his performance featuring classical renditions of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” and X Japan’s masterpiece “Art Of Life.”

"So many artists in Asia are going overseas and Asian rock is growing worldwide,” Yoshiki said as he accepted the award. “X Japan is proud to be one of them and if there’s a wall between east and west, the wall is getting lower and thinner. I’m going to break this wall. It’s an honor to receive this award. I would like to dedicate this award to the X Japan members especially Hide and Taiji. Thank you very much.”

On January 12 and 13, 2017, Yoshiki will make his Carnegie Hall debut with “Yoshiki Classical featuring Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.” Although known as the founder, songwriter and drummer of X Japan, Yoshiki is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist, composer, and musician. Having composed the 2012 Golden Globe Awards theme song, he also composed and performed an orchestral piece and piano concerto to commemorate the Japanese Emperor’s 10th anniversary of his reign. His recent album Yoshiki Classical features collaborations between Yoshiki and legendary Beatles producer Sir George Martin, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, and Quartet San Francisco. At the Carnegie shows, Yoshiki will perform his original compositions alongside the world-renowned Tokyo Philharmonic; he will also play several traditional Classical pieces. Yoshiki has tapped Yuga Cohler (co-creator of the Kanye West/Beethoven crossover project “Yeethoven”) to conduct the concerts.

Yoshiki is currently on a world tour greeting audiences for the X Japan documentary “WE ARE X” at film festivals in various countries, as well as promoting his forthcoming classical tour.
